The Constitution attempted to require a public support of Citizens by the States before a War commitment---to stop a tyrant. Art. I, Sec. 8, cl 11-16. Congress has relaxed this mandate since 1947.

The draft shouldn't scare anyone. It might be a bit difficult for you for a while, but you can do the following if you don't want to be drafted. Legally make a statement in writing that you never signed the Social Security Application - SS-4 Form - your parents did it - and then stop using your Social Security number. But if you DID get the number through signing the SS-4 form, legally revoke your signature off the form. The military won't take you without a SSN, If they give you a number, make a legal paperwork rejection of the SSN form and number they give you, and never use it. Then fight in court. Might be difficult, but it is legal, as long as you maintain your no-SSN status.
