Restoring Amercian Liberty...

Born from the spirit and example of the Free State Project and the desire to do more than aspire to live free, Arizona liberty activists have created a political initiative known as the Constitutional County Project – “Restoring American Liberty, one county at a time.” The Constitutional County Project is a nonpartisan effort to encourage people who value their Constitutional freedoms to “vote with their feet.” By moving to and residing in specific counties, they can organize and focus their political efforts toward exercising the full authority of the county to advance Constitutional government in defense of “life, liberty, and property.” The mission statement: The Constitutional County Project is driven by citizen involvement at all levels of the County political process, with the primary mission of promoting the United States Constitution as the supreme law of the land, to secure and protect the liberties of “We the People” without compromise. Participants of the project receive information and training on how to support Constitutional county candidates, become candidates themselves, or simply have a political voice on county laws, regulations, and policies, and hold their local officials Constitutionally accountable. Their goals include: *Supporting Constitutional candidates, as well as encouraging project participants to run, for all county offices including county sheriff, attorney, board of supervisors, school board, along with all municipal and political party offices. *Encouraging businesses to move to the county by creating a low-tax and low-regulation environment. *Repealing local and county laws and regulations which are unrelated to protecting individual rights. *Establishing and enforcing environmental regulations at the county level. *Implementing sources of tax revenue that do not infringe on property rights. *Using legal and political means to protect the county’s residents against any attempt to un-Constitutionally interfere with peaceable living and enterprise. The Constitutional County Project is a nationwide effort that will work incrementally, county by county, to preserve “life, liberty, and property.” While the ideal is for every county in America to have a sheriff, attorney, and local government that honor their oaths to the Constitution, the initial strategy of the Constitutional County Project will be to focus on rural counties. Rural counties offer unique attributes of lower population density, reduced regulation, and an existing value of independence that would allow a smaller number of trained activists to make a significant political impact towards liberty. The flagship model for the Constitutional County Project will start in Navajo County, Arizona, which currently embraces a spirit of liberty by its residents who enjoy one of the most easily obtained self-sustainable lifestyles in Arizona. This self-sufficiency is facilitated by an abundant water supply, surplus of land, low population density, and a mild and livable climate year-round. Navajo County is further strengthened by an existing presence of Constitutionally-minded representatives and political leadership. These attributes create a feasible and measurable platform from which to advance the proper role of a county-level government in the defense of the American promise of freedom. The combination of the Constitutional County Project’s political strategy, along with the liberty-loving political environment of Navajo County, were more than enough to recruit the original Constitutional Sheriff Richard Mack to be a probable candidate for Sheriff in Navajo County under the banner of the project. Sheriff Mack has been a Sheriff for two terms (in neighboring Graham County, Arizona) and is known as the original “Constitutional Sheriff” recognizing the proper role of government, including law enforcement, in the defense of individual rights and liberty. Sheriff Mack has served in a wide variety of roles over the course of his nearly twenty-year career in law enforcement, which began in Provo, Utah. He has been a consultant on numerous cases regarding police abuse, brutality, and other misconduct by public officials. He has joined with other members of the law enforcement community to speak out in favor of drug policy reform, and has supported this noble movement because it is both effective and peaceful. Having Sheriff Mack as a Constitutional candidate for Sheriff of Navajo County is tremendous, but in order for a true Constitutional County to be created, more is needed. It needs INDIVIDUALS. It needs like-minded, Constitutional and liberty-loving people to come together and create a society where all “organs” of county government from the Sheriff to the other offices within county and municipal governments work toward the primary goal of protecting “life, liberty, and property” and “Restoring American Liberty, one county at a time.”
