Attracted by small government and free market talk, I cast my first presidential vote for Ronald Reagan. I had always considered myself “issue oriented” diverging from the conservatives when it came to telling others how to live their lives. Again in the early 1990’s the “Contract with America” republicans caught my attention with yet another message of small government. It took a few more years for me to realize that the majority of my “issue oriented” positions had one thing in common. Liberty! I had also accepted the reality that the politicians rarely if ever delivered on their small government promises. Several years ago I became fascinated with a particular congressman from Texas who seemed to make more sense than anyone else in Washington. He also seemed to be the lone ranger in several 434-1 votes (a fact that I found appealing as well). Listening to Rep. Ron Paul I became exposed to the ideas presented in the Austrian School of economics and my libertarian views began to come together. Today principles and ideas are what matter to me. I have little time for parties and no interest in partisan electoral politics. In 2004 I moved from Philadelphia to Phoenix. An Engineering Manager in the manufacturing sector, I enjoy playing music and making my brand new grand daughter smile.
