This is a classic story of once you are on the government's radar you do not get off no matter what a jury says. They ultimately get you for something completely unrelated to what they originally accused you of, and in the end it is hard to see what you are convicted of as being a crime ... except they say it is. And you get bankrupt, buried in prison and in Mr. Al-Arain's case booted out of the country, and if the government is lucky, tortured incommunicado to death in your country of origin.
