Holy cognitive dissonance, Batman!

Why, it seems only yesterday Chuck Baldwin wrung his hands and wailed to the flock, “why me? Why do I suffer the animus of the Southern Poverty Law Center? Why do they say I hate?”

Has a week gone by that Chuck Baldwin hasn't cried foul over a little report conjured from the bowels of the Missouri Information Analysis Center that artificially inflated his importance?

Yet, now, Chuck Baldwin applauds, nay, gushes over the legislation that creates prior reasonable suspicion for law enforcement to indefinitely arrest and detain him, without recourse, merely for existing in a manner not sufficiently subservient to his lord, the state.

After what must have been an exhausting survey of everyone in Arizona, Chuck Baldwin claims, “no one in Arizona is talking about racial profiling or violating citizens’ constitutional rights.” Either polling is not as exact a science as theology, or the polling method utilized is flawed, because the words I hear emanating from within the geographical plot arbitrarily designated Arizona are ALL about racial profiling and violations of citizens' rights.

Used only for the stated purpose, this law necessarily entails racial profiling. But, it takes a special leap of faith to believe the stated purpose is the actual purpose.

The purpose of this law is to tag the herd and to bring their actions and PRIVATE property under state control. “Existing” is now permitted only if authorized by the state. Use and disposal of your PRIVATE property is now only permitted if authorized by the state.

There is no other purpose or effect of this law, hate-filled cheering and jeering notwithstanding.

As a quite separate issue, Mr. Baldwin, your list of “costs” (ranging from dubiously sourced to outright fabrications [Steve King? Really?]) is completely irrelevant when not accompanied by the “benefit” side of the ledger. It's those niggling little omissions that land you on the SPLC's Hate Watch list.

Perhaps if you learned basic accounting, you wouldn't be reduced to blegging for donations at the end of your posts.

What does that say about him as the presidential candidate that he was?

 Living in the great state of Arizona I'm all for throwing out the illegals. I'm tired of being told to push 1 for english, of not being able to go Home Depot without being mobed by dozens of illegals.If you don't like the law, get out. You don't have to live here plain and simple. You want to live where everyone is accepted, go to California. If you think this law is bad, why don't you read Mexicos Imigration Laws, I have. Everyone I talk to in this state and in others say the same thing. We're tired of them and their Anchor babies. We're tired of everything being written in spanish, and we're tired of pressing 1 for english. English is the lanuage not spanish. You people don't care about being raped by the banks and Federal Gov,high unemployment,the Feds listening to your phone calls, reading your e-mails, Taxes Our country is going down the toilet and this is what got you riled up ? Sheep.

It's sad to see cheers for Arizona's new law when it will likely only prove to be an expensive merry-go-round because it locks them up at taxpayer expense then hands them over to the feds, who will likely either release them in another state or across the border, after which they will soon return to Arizona or some other state. On the other hand, pro-Mexican immigrant groups are lamely protesting about racial profiling, when papers are colorblind, and everybody is stopped by the police for some triviality sooner or later, which is how Ariz. will catch them, not by their racial appearance. The Democrats meanwhile want a general amnesty for Mexicans now in the U.S., as if there aren't 100+ million more a walk away who want to cross the border next.

Does the U.S. like to tear itself up endlessly over non-solutions when the real solution is so clear now, namely, the Megamerge Dissolution Solution of working with the Mexican people to dissolve their incurably corrupt govt. and failed country in exchange for creating 10+ new states that will become economic zones attracting southward migration, creating new jobs for all 414 million of us, and expanding the border to the oceans where it can finally be effectively controlled? With broad bipartisan support Congress can effect the megamerge in just years instead of wasting time on Democratic and Republican non-solutions.
