Buchanan being one of "them", his words usually ring somewhat tinnily in my ear.  But I truly didn't know he was historically ignorant.

This country wasn't born "a dozen years after Lexington an Concord", Pat.  Ask the Army; ask the Marine Corps, when they came into being.  The year was 1775.  This country was born AT Lexington.

And the date was April 19th.

Have we ever had a president so disconnected from the heart of the people?  That would be a resounding YES!  and for 8 whole years too, his name was George Wanker Bush.

Perhaps you should learn the language before you comment. You said : "This country wasn't born "a dozen years after Lexington an Concord", Pat."

And you're right, but that's not what he said!

He said that this country WROTE ITS BIRTH CERTIFICATE a dozen years after Lexington and Concord. It was a figure of speech. A dozen years after Lexington and Concord was the year 1787 -- the year that the Constitution (the birth certificate) was written.
