• USA Today (h/t Steven Saw)The rich in Congress got even richer in 2009. The 50 wealthiest members of Congress saw their collective fortunes rise to $1.4 billion in 2009 -- an $85.1 million jump from 2008 -- even as the U.S. economy struggled to recover from a recession.
Well, this would certainly account for that 16% increase in federal spending.
