I don't know why you are so upset over this guy.  He has to be a friend of Israel.  After all he is on the payroll of the FBI.   He works with (or for) the State Dept.  And he is the go to guy for FOX News on all things Muslim.  I look forward to all future revelations of who this guy works with (or for).  Bakshish.

I am not upset about Rauf, Powell. I don't think he is on the FBI's payroll but works for the US State Department. Just because he is on the federal government's payroll does not mean that he is who he says he is as even bureaucrats can make mistakes. In this case, if he works for State I think its an indication of the left's anti-Semitism since he is able to promote his jihadism on the taxpayer's dime in the Muslim world.

Futhermore, he is no "friend of Israel" anymore than he is a moderate. Rauf will not condemn Hamas and made some other questionable statements including one that in terms of Israel he hoped it would "become one more Arab country, with a Jewish minority."

Well, that makes Rauf a lot more moderate than the Israelis and the neocons who who won't condemn Israel for its "ethnic cleansing" efforts to became a Jewish country with no Arabs at all. Where was the US condemnation for Israel's murder of relief workers on the Gaza flotilla? The USS Liberty?

And for the record, libertarians are supposed to support private property rights--Let the man build his mosque/rec center wherever he wants.

A week before Jon Stewart outed the whole uproar for what it was (Fox/Clearchannel/GOP distractionary BS) I was sharing my opinion on air that this sounded just like the Flag Burning issue of the 1988 campaign cycle.

FOX & friends are not doing too well on this one and they likely hoped that they waited until a lot closer to the General Election before dumping this issue on the public because of the speed of the Internet outing what is really going on and by whom/what.

But it's all Blah Blah Blah anyway since I have no faith in the election process at every level. It's just another opportunity to place doub t in the minds of the populace as to the _possible_ motivations for your neighbors to have voted/advocated for the latest (fill in the blank) expansion of the government into places you never thought possible (like building a religious facility on private property).

What is of great interest to me is the management of both sides of the issue by the same people.... tragic.
