I was just talking to a bunch of freedom lovers last night. these folks love freedom but adamantly oppose legalization of marijuana.
What I could never get around to showing them was the idea that they were taking other peoples' freedom away by adamantly forcing their ideals on others. They wouldn't let me suggest to them that what if the law happened to be that smoking 5 joints a day was required by law? For everybody. Them included. Then where would they stand on freedom?
The only real law that exists is the law against harming or killing someone else, or damaging his property, except in pure self-defense. All the rest of the laws ultimately wind up taking away the freedoms they are trying to protect.
I applaud Mr. Victor for his stance in this. There are many attorneys out there who are using the laws that were meant to uphold freedom to line their pockets with green.
