The author laments the fact that the progressives in the Democratic Party and its affiliate lobby groups have not been anti war in actual policy.  He forgets that the left has a long history of meddling in the affairs of the individuals, groups and countries.

The concept of nation building, making the world safe for democracy, came from a Democrat.  And, that is exactly what we are doing now.  So, why the surprise when the left of the Democratic party continues to expand the works of the left of the Republican party?  (Bush was a neo conservative- a leftist)

I do want to point out that an protests that even attempt to gather are simply stopped by the police. False arrests are made. And the group responsible is made to look like nutjobs. So really while people do protest, they don't want to take the chance to get jailed by the totalitarian nation that is the usa.

Now if enough people could group together to protest, that the police establishment will fear and have no power to control, then it would be successful. Sadly it isn't happening for some reason.

what is it that ties both parties together to war-monger?  War has been the theme of Rothschilds banking for hundreds of years. War makes rapid profit for "financiers" and military suppliers owned by the bankers.  Look for the weakness of the banking system. Find what the Fed did with $8.4 trillion they hid from Congress.  Ref. CRIMES OF THE FEDERAL RESERVE,   http://www.scribd.com/doc/62167283

   Want a real Anti-War movement?

Those who are daydreaming of the good ol' days of the 60's and 70's, need to pressure someone to re-institute the military draft. You'll have a "movement", almost overnight.

Am I the only one who remembers or believes that the anti-war movement, during the "Vietnam years", pretty much came to an end when selective service (draft) came to an end.

There isn't much of a movement, now, because Baby Bummers don't feel threatened and their kids have aged-out of the "draft" and military service age, for the most part.

Want a movement, "you can be proud of"? Try to raise the driving age to 18; add a $50 surchage to a Bieber or GaGa ticket; make it illegal to text if you are under 21; make it impossible to get out of high school if you can't read; make date rapers and Robotrippers ineligible for high school and college sports; or, make parent responsible for their kid's attendance and achievement in school.

Commonality of threat or purpose is needed to mount a viable movement. Such things usually denote the existence of "community". There is no longer any real sense of "community" in the United States. (There are very real reasons for this; but, I won't bother you with them, since they should be obvious...Although not usually spoken of and not at all "politically correct".)
