Don’t make a long, meaningless Ph.D. dissertation what Police is to the Government when what you simply meant to say is that you just hate them more than you despise your debt collector.
We are NOT a "police state", if you understand what it means! We are a State with Police mandated by law to enforce the law and to keep the peace so that you can do whatever you legally want to do in pursuit of your own happiness!
The Police as part of the State neither mean nor imply at all that we live in a "Police State".

Police are officers of the Government and the State. Their job is to catch criminals or law violators and bring them to justice. Period. Say that first before you write anything complicated, or get bloated and convoluted.
