Cops Take School Kids' DNA without warrant or parental permission in murder case

Better hope none of these kids did the deed, because if the DNA links them to the crime: Poisoned Fruit bad cops, poisoned fruit.
How is it that you can stick a needle into someone without their permission, but can't stick a penis into someone without their permission?
Two points: a. If this Sheriff considers these children mature enough to 'give their consent' for this then he must also consider them mature enough to consent to sex & b. If they had taken a DNA sample from my child without my consent the Sheriff would be scrambling for his passport and a one way ticket out of the country.
