Gun background check compromise, assault weapon ban fail in Senate

It's really amazing how many of the comments from the pro-gun control people are just so mean and nasty. What a bunch....probably still dealing with a lot of unresolved issues from their childhood.
Toomey said in the article, "I did what I thought was the right thing for our country. I sought out a compromise position that I thought could move the ball forward on an important matter of public safety." And Obama said, “All in all, this was a pretty shameful day for Washington, ... this effort is not over.”
It's time for the effort to NOT be over. It's time for the pro-gun people to start pushing back. It's time for laws REQUIRING responsible private citizens all over the country to arm themselves more than ever, to protect themselves and each other from criminal activity from the common thief, and from renegade law enforcement. And such armament should include the "nastiest," "assault-style" weapons available.
The ONLY time there will be peace and safety is when we make it for ourselves.
