Yes, one WOULD think. But Americans don't make decisions about who to elect to run their government based upon rational thought. Their actions are controlled by their emotions. And because of that, the natural freedoms of the individual are rampantly being sacrificed for the artificially induced insecurities of the many -- in this country, and round the world. The problem lies within the very nature of the human animal. Reasonable thinking of the occasional intelligent individual is quickly drowned out by the bleating of the sheeple herd, even as they tumble over a financial cliff or die in a desert of indifference.
