This is similar (but maybe more so) than what Blockchain at https://blockchain.info/ has done with the online Bitcoin wallets that they host for folks. They don't really even hold the info that encrypts and decrypts the wallets. Only the user has it on his computer. Yet, Blockchain holds the wallets. And there is a lot more that they do for security and freedom of use for the user/wallet holder.
