Whats the big deal? In all the major nations of the world, virtually ALL the leaders are thugs and liars. They have to be, just to be leaders of large numbers of people.
The difference is in the kind of government Putin controls. The U.S. Government is of a different kind. In order for the U.S. Government to get away with some of the more out-in-the-open "thugishnesses" that Putin gets away with daily, the U.S. Government had to create things like the FBI, CIA, and NSA.
