And just what's wrong with "targeted assassination"? That's what we did to Osama Bin Laden, and nobody but the Pakistani government grumbled. Would you rather waste thousands of lives in war, or just pick out one bloody tyrant with a well-aimed bullet? How else do we fight enemies who surround themselves with human shields of innocents? The only problem I see with targeted drone-strikes -- or piloted aircraft strikes, for that matter, or smart-missile strikes -- is that they're not accurate enough. What we need are missiles that can pick out one face in a crowd, and kill that one and no other. The problem here is technical development, not morality.
