Are There Really Biblical Reasons to 'Stand With Israel'?
• Libertarian Institute - Jeff WrightA biblical and theological issue is at the heart of a major geopolitical crisis. This fact was brought to light during the recent discussion between Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) and Tucker Carlson.

If somebody went somewhere and started a company and called it Israel, is it the Israel of God? God promised Abraham that He would make him the father of many nations. And God started it with the children of Jacob, Jacob who He named Israel. Right from the start these people were rebellious against God. Look at how many times they fought against Moses and God while they were being led to the promised land of Canaan. Many times God had to chastise them with other nations, until He finally destroyed them thru Babylon/Nebuchadnezzar. After 70 years God brought them back to their land, but He destroyed them permanently 70 years after they killed Jesus and would not repent. The land of Ancient Israel was the whole end of the Mediterranean Sea up to and past the Jordan River. The thing that is there now is not the Israel of God, even though He might help them a little to keep His own name from being defamed.
