They labeled my husband, Kevin Benderman, a Sgt. in the US Army, with Deserter status although he never missed a day of service. He went through two courts-martial and served over a year in prison. But he never left his post. He did make a public statement suggesting that "the president was not worth the dust off the boots of the soldiers who died in Iraq" and we both did publicly challenge the command to correct their corrupt ways.

The Army does not care about those who Desert - they do care about those who will divulge their secrets and will prosecute them with lies, manipulated evidence and every kind of threat, intimidation and harassment possible simply to get them to shut up.

Sometimes -- their efforts don't work.
