Reminiscences of a Stock Operator - Edwin Lefevre

"In my interviews with over thirty of the best traders of our time, there were some questions that I raised in each conversation. One of these was: Are there any books that you found particularly valuable and would recommend to aspiring traders? By far, the most frequent response was Reminiscences of a Stock Operator - a book that was over seventy years old!" - from the Forward by Jack Schwager

Yes, Reminiscences is a novel, but one that Stewart has obviously never read. Cramer basically re-wrote the novel via intra-day dispatches on thestreet.com in the late 90s - he convinced me, at least, that a long-term strategy was worthless and proved the existence, in real time, of the stock and commodity market mechanisms described in the novel.

There are, indeed, two markets, Jon, and a lot of people bought in to the hype; however, the sober information was and is readily available to anyone who cares to educate themselves before they plunge their life savings into a mutual fund or bet their home on a neg-am mortgage.
