Programming Scottish 4 Year Olds To Accept Biometric ID For Life

Angus Council has the greatest number of schools using the technology, with biometric ID systems in use for cashless catering in four primary and eight secondary schools. In one West Lothian secondary school there is a “hand pad system” in place for primary school pupils housed there temporarily to gain use of the toilets. Records of fingerprints are not kept, but if palm recognition is used an image can be encrypted and stored. Michael Parker, of anti-identity card campaigners NO2ID, said: “It is quite unreasonable to construct a system whereby children of a very young age are being regularly indoctrinated into the idea that they must constantly prove who they are.
