Barack Obama has made an unannounced stop in Kabul Afghanistan, on the one year anniversary of Osama Bin Laden's death. 

And according to Mark Knoller of CBS News, Obama will give an address to the nation tonight from Bagram Air Base.  

According to Xinhuanet.com, the visit comes at a portentous time for U.S. -Afghan relations:

The long-waited strategic pact between the post-Taliban Afghanistan and the United States was finally drafted on Sunday and made ready for inking by President Hamid Karzai and his U.S.counterpart Barack Obama, a statement released by Afghan Presidential Palace late Sunday said.

UPDATE 3:12PM According to Reuters (via Breaking News), President Obama plans to designate Afghanistan as a "major non-NATO ally"–the first such designation given by the Obama administration.
