Owners of the Su Rui, by the cellphone battery and carmaker BYD, can use the car's remote to start the air conditioning or heater before getting in, to park the car in a tight spot while standing outside, and to call the car over from a short distance, a BYD video shows. The remote works from a distance of 33 feet (10 meters), Yahoo's Motoramic reported.

The car costs $10,000 to $15,000, Motoramic said.

 

 BYD began selling Su Ruis in Beijing in August, according to a BYD announcement. The company plans eventually to sell electric cars in the U.S., Motoramic reported.

The company is facing some troubles this year, however. The automaker, which also makes solar energy products, forecast its profits may fall by as much as 98 percent this year, Bloomberg News reported in October. Depressed demand for new cars in China was partly to blame, the Wall Street Journal reported.
