.The report examined the federal policies in the US related to children's health and health care. The researchers found that child poverty in America is at its highest point in 20 years and five children die daily from firearms. They offered ten steps for the federal government to help children. The steps include setting a national target date for eliminating child poverty; allocating more funds for pediatric research; investing in children's nutrition programs; and a background check for gun sales.
