Activists in America have threatened violence against the white refugees, claiming that they want to "bring Apartheid to the US".

On Wednesday, Trump hosted South African President Ramaphosa in the White House and  when a reporter inquired about why Trump admitted white South Africans as refugees, Trump played a video featuring Julius Malema, the leader of the EFF party, singing the song 'Kill the Farmer, Kill the Boer' in a stadium with thousands of people. A clip of a mass grave with 1,000 crosses that Trump said were murdered farmers was also shown. 

South Africa's Deputy President Paul Mashatile asked white farmers to "please stay". 

South Africa's neighbor, Zimbabwe, fought a civil war, and the new government passed the Zimbabwean Land Acquisition Act in 1992 to expropriate land from white farmers, which led to the emigration of the farmers. Zimbabwe faced massive food shortages, starvation, and its infrastructure collapsed. 

Brandon Smith wrote, "If even a handful of white farmers from South Africa are able to come to the US and succeed, it will encourage thousands more to leave the country. South Africa will then lose a large portion of its most productive citizens. The last vestiges of civil stability will disappear. South Africa will collapse."
