Five people were arrested on warrants Thursday in the Fairbanks area in connection with alleged plans to kill or kidnap a judge and Alaska state troopers.
Federal agents arrested a man accused of threatening to kill a federal judge, U.S. Attorney Karen Loeffler told the Anchorage Daily News. Loeffler identified the arrested man as Lonnie Vernon, 55.
The targeted judge was not immediately identified.
A second man, Schaeffer Cox, 26, was arrested on accusations of murder conspiracy, kidnapping conspiracy and arson conspiracy, Alaska State Troopers spokeswoman Megan Peters said. The Fairbanks Daily News-Miner says Cox is a self-described "sovereign."...
