In the latest research, the team replaced the Mylar with pure carbon. In this setup, the growing nanotubes literally raise the roof, lifting up the iron and aluminum oxide from which they’re sprouting while the other ends stay firmly attached to the carbon. It is possible though that we evolved into organisms that have out stripped our ability to produce stem cells. In short we simply have metabolisms that operate far to fast to be able to replace all the damage as needed unlike the above mentioned reptiles. Thus creating a mechanism that takes up the slack may be a way to bring the human aging cycle under control and restore the possibility of biological immortality to humanity.

We can also agree that this comet carries water in particular. Unfortunately, this has leaned heavily on the thinking of theorists and it has been supposed that as the comet approaches the sun that the increased warmth helped create a cloud. I do not think it has much to do with warming at all. Much more likely, the dust mass progressively charges up because of increased radiation from the sun. This induces charge accepting particles to separate, and of course the comet is an accumulation of dust. I suspect that the main charge accepting particle is carbon soot. Thus a comet is a mass of fine condrite dust, water and ammonia vapor and lots of free carbon soot.

The theory was first published about four years ago and sank like a stone. I have commented a great deal on its importance providing a radical interpretation that I expect few to accept anytime soon. The comment that the black mat varies in age and has different geological sources is odd. The soot layer is convincingly unique, unless someone is able to show me multiple layers over eons. That argues for a unique causation and additional argues for a critical review of the methods for determining age which we already know is fickle. I have already explained why these reptiles can be still extant. They are aquatic and rely on water immersion to control body temperature. That means that they stick to swamps and related rivers. The sea going version may also be around but obviously having no pressing need to spend time on the surface at all. Their present populations are likely at low ebb, but that merely reflects the present paucity of swamps. We are missing most of the Saharan swamps and those of the Outback. Both these would have compared to the Congo. We are also missing the coastal swamps caused by the Northern Ice age that circled the continents.

No one knows exactly how much Earth's climate will warm due to carbon emissions, but a new study this week suggests scientists' best predictions about global warming might be incorrect. The study, which appears in Nature Geoscience, found that climate models explain only about half of the heating that occurred during a well-documented period of rapid global warming in Earth's ancient past. The study, which was published online today, contains an analysis of published records from a period of rapid climatic warming about 55 million years ago known as the Palaeocene-Eocene thermal maximum, or PETM.
That now brings up another issue. A previous post on the Antarctic ice core, established that every 100,000 years or so we swing by Sirius and get bathed in ultraviolet radiation for a thousand years or so. The effect of this is to essentially melt out a large part of the ice caps and add perhaps another couple of hundred feet of sea level. The temperature will rise several degrees on average and that surplus must migrate north. Far more importantly huge amounts of water will find its way into the atmosphere introducing enough rain to establish tropical conditions almost to the poles themselves. It also means a massive expansion of Amazon tropical rainforest like conditions far to the north. The Mississippi valley, the Sahara, the Outback, the Middle East will all become saturated swamplands fully able to support their own populations of crocodiles.

The radio flare began at about the time of the gamma-ray flares, but continued to increase in brightness for at least two months. "This tells us that energetic material burst out very close to the black hole, causing the gamma rays to be emitted and the radio flare to begin. As that material traveled down the jet, expanding and losing energy, the gamma-ray emission ceased, but the radio continued to increase in brightness," Walker explained. "The VLBA showed us with great precision where the radio emission came from, so we know the gamma rays came from closer in toward the black hole," he added.
