A native Arizonan and free thinker I have titled my section "Straight from the Shoulder" in honor of my grandfather, Ward Shelby, editor and publisher of The Progressive Arizona and the Greater Southwest, forerunner to Arizona Highways magazine. I am a Libertarian who has not yet arrived, but like many in both the D and R column, have great affinity for their ideals.
