White House Report Falsely Blames Syria for Using CWs

A declassified White House document falsely accused Syria of the April 4 Kahn Sheikhoun CW attack it had nothing to do with - using fabricated intelligence and other disinformation sources. 

No verifiable evidence was presented because none exists. Blaming Syria for what happened is a bald-faced lie. Clearly the April 4 incident was a US-sponsored terrorist attack.

In briefing reporters yesterday, an unnamed "senior administration official" lied, claiming the April 4 attack "came from (a) SU-22 fixed-wing aircraft out of the Shayrat airfield, which is regime controlled."

The official lied, claiming Syrian personnel "associated with the (country's) chemical weapons program were at Shayrat airfield in late March preparing for this attack."

The official lied, claiming "(o)n the dates surrounding the attack, and the day of the attack, they were again present at that airfield."

The official lied, claiming sarin was used. No credible investigation so far was conducted to determine what caused deaths and injuries. Forensic analysis is needed to learn what toxin was used. Until then, claims made are political, not scientific.

The senior official lied, saying "we are very confident that terrorists, or non-state actors, did not commit this particular attack. We are confident as well that these terrorists or rebels don't have sarin…"

No so-called "rebels" exist. US-supported terrorists earlier used sarin, chlorine gas and other toxins - their attacks falsely blamed on Assad.

The senior official lied, claiming "we do not know that Syria gave up a huge amount of its chemical weapons."

The OPCW confirmed the destruction of its entire stockpile. Saying "Syria's declaration was not complete" was a bald-faced lie. So was claiming "the regime has consistently used chemical weapons over time…" Not a shred of evidence suggests it.

The unclassified White House document was a fabricated account of the April 4 incident - created to falsely hold Assad accountable for what was carried out by US-supported terrorists.

Some examples of its disinformation:

"The United States is confident that the Syrian regime" attacked Khan Sheikhoun with "chemical weapons…"

FALSE!

"We have confidence in our assessment because we have signals intelligence and geospatial intelligence, laboratory analysis…(and) open source reporting."

FALSE!

"We cannot publicly reveal all available intelligence…to protect sources…"

There's nothing credible to release, just fabrications.

"The Syrian regime maintains the capability and intent to use chemical weapons…"

FALSE! Its entire stockpile was destroyed.

"Our information indicates that the chemical agent was delivered by (a) regime Su-22 fixed-wing aircraft that took off from the regime-controlled Shayrat airfield."

FALSE!

"We are certain that the opposition could not have fabricated all of the videos and other reporting of chemical attacks."

FALSE!

"The Syrian regime and its primary backer, Russia, have sought to confuse the world community about who is responsible for using chemical weapons against the Syrian people in this and earlier attacks."

FALSE!

The White House document includes numerous other fabrications.

Trump used the false flag incident to illegally attack Syria's Shayrat airbase, further strikes virtually certain - based on more fabricated claims.

His recklessness increased chances for direct US/Russia confrontation.

Russia's Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova blasted US aggression, saying it "sharply deteriorated" bilateral relations.

It represents "a serious challenge not only to regional, but also to international security." 

It recklessly escalated conflict when all-out efforts are needed to resolve it diplomatically.
