2019 Arizona Freedom Summit

February 8th & 9th

LOCATION: Beus Center for Law and Society | 111 E. Taylor Street Phoenix AZ | Room 544

The Freedom Summit is an annual seminar dedicated to promoting and advancing human freedom. To that end, the Freedom Summit offers speakers who have demonstrated their effectiveness in presenting the intellectual case for freedom. The next Freedom Summit will be held on February 8th and 9th, 2019 at The ASU Sandra Day O'Connor College of Law in Phoenix, Arizona.

The Freedom Summit offers a highly distinguished assortment of the best, brightest and most entertaining people in the freedom movement today. The Freedom Summit is an annual update on the current status of freedom in our world from several varied perspectives. Rather than seek to present either an optimistic or pessimistic outlook, the Freedom Summit strives to present an honest and straightforward assessment of the current status of our freedom.

Socialism and other coercive centralized planning schemes have failed to improve and indeed worsened, the human condition. As such, the Freedom Summit does not encourage or promote any particular centralized plan to achieve freedom. Rather, the Freedom Summit encourages individuals to promote freedom in non-coercive ways which are best suited to their individual talents.

The Freedom Summit is a forum for the vigorous and peaceful exchange of ideas about how humans ought to interact with each other. People recently introduced to the concepts of freedom as well as lifelong supporters of freedom are encouraged to attend. Additionally, those who support a coercive government are also welcome to attend; and examine their views in light of the ideas and arguments presented.

Past speakers have included: Ron Paul, Lew Rockwell, Jeffrey Tucker, Walter Block, George H. Smith, Louis James, L. Neil Smith, Sharon Harris, Jacob Hornberger, Don Boudreaux, Vin Suprynowicz, and many others. Also, please visit our speaker's page to see a list of this year's speakers. Eric Lounsbery

Eric Lounsbery Along with working in the home improvement industry, Eric is also an inventor and a Christian apologist. He is the creator of numerous board games including two Bible games as well as a children's game that was produced by Mattel. Eric taught at The School of Ministry at Idaho's largest Calvary Chapel church and at numerous conferences on a variety of subjects including parenting, Mormonism, etc. As a Christian apologist, Eric is quick to point out that the difference between Christianity and all other religions/worldviews is that Christianity is founded upon "unshakable evidence" that could stand up in any courtroom. It is because of this belief that Eric gladly accepts all opportunities to engage those who reject the existence of God and the Christian faith.

Writing about Eric's last debate against George Smith at the 2005 Freedom Summit, one atheist wrote: "Mr. Lounsbery took the affirmative, and presented a great deal of compelling evidence. George Smith took the negative and failed, utterly, to confront the evidence or even to comment in many cases on the claims made by Lounsbery. As such, it was extremely disappointing as a debate. For speaking style, arguments claimed and uncontested, and effective rebuttal, the debate was won by Lounsbery. … Thus, the experience of watching an atheist get trounced in a debate over the reasonableness of a belief in God was unsatisfying."
