Biden Regime Threatens India for its Planned Purchase of Russian S-400s

In 2018, India agreed to buy five Russian S-400 air defense systems for $5.43 billion.

The Trump regime and now Biden hardliners warned Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi against fulfilling his contractual obligation.

According to Russian Industry and Trade Minister Denis Manturov, state owned aerospace/defense firm Almaz-Antey began "manufacturing the S-400 systems for India, and Russia will deliver (them) within the timeframe stipulated by the contract" — reportedly in late 2021, adding:

"(C)ommitments undertaken by the parties, including the payment, are being fulfilled in full."

According to an unnamed US official, if India takes delivery of Russian S-400s and they become operational, sanctions may be imposed on the country.

Despite relentless US pressure and threats, India remains committed to the purchase, its legal right.

US nonsense about incompatibility of Russian systems with NATO's was rejected earlier by Turkey, India going the same way.

Russia's long-range air defense system is state-of-the art, superior to the best in the West.

According to senior ruling BJP lawmaker Subramanian Swamy, the Biden regime threatened to expel India from the so-called anti-China Quad alliance if it completes the purchase of Russian S-400s.

US war secretary Austin threatened India with sanctions, saying:

"(W)e have countries that we work with from time to time that have…Russian equipment that they acquired over the years, and we certainly urge all our allies and partners to move away from (this) equipment."

If the purchase is completed as expected, India will be the third nation to buy Russian S-400s, China and Turkey the others.

In January, India's WION television reported that training of Indian military specialists to operate Russia's S-400s will begin soon.

Russian envoy to India Nikolay Kudahsev called its purchase a bilateral military/technical cooperation "flagship initiative," adding:

Ties between both countries are worlds apart from Washington's desired bipolar world.

Representing their "polycentric order, (Russia's) partnership (with India) is becoming even stronger."

It's "mutually beneficial and forward- looking cooperation."

"Along with S-400 systems project, we are successfully moving towards implementation of AK-203 Kalashnikovs contract, 200 Ka-226 helicopters supplies and production in India as well as an advanced cooperation in the areas of combat aviation (including Su-30MKI program), main battle tanks (T-90), frigates, submarines and missiles, including joint production of unique Brahmos."

According to Rick Rozoff, the Biden regime seeks to recruit India as a NATO partner, "thereby joining 40 other partners throughout the world."

Hardliners around Biden aim "to end 74 years of Russian-Indian military cooperation, supplanting Moscow's influence with the very military bloc established to oppose Russia and which now openly proclaims Russia its main adversary, so as to recruit India to an international crusade against China and Russia," Rozoff explained, adding:

If the above is achieved, "the world would witness the most dramatic – and most dangerous – geopolitical shift in history."

Both right wings of the US war party are hellbent on eliminating all obstacles to its rage for unchallenged global dominance.

The threat of global war one day is real.

What's unwinnable would pit nuclear armed nations against each other if things play out this way.

According to an ancient proverb, included by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow in one of his poems: "Whom the gods would destroy they first make mad."

The above applies to the madness of US hardliners to rule the world unchallenged, risking its destruction if they go all-out to achieve their unattainable aims.
