Homeland Security Checkpoint Video Now Available
Terry BressiThis is an update to my earlier post regarding an internal Homeland Security checkpoint currently being operated on Southern Arizona's State Route 86 near Mile Post 146. Video and a writeup regarding my encounter is now available.

I find this article very interesting. What is your motive here? We are either going to put up some check stations to try to stop the flow of drugs and illegal's into our country or we are should we just give up and let everyone just head north bring anything they want into our country. I have been living in Arizona sense 1978 and have had checks like your talking about when I have driven north out of Nogales and even heading east out of Yuma. The agents have sometimes asked me a few questions and other time just let me past. Our government must try to do something to stop the flow of illegal drugs and people into our country and I feel the check points are not a big issue. We simple can't have it both ways.
This is nothing new. I have been living in Arizona sense 1978 and have been check at this same stretch of road on a number of occasions a number of times. The same is true heading east out of Yuma and Blythe California. A check point heading west out of Arizona on Interstate 10 just before you get to Blythe has been there 24/7 for years. They are looking for fruit that mar carry fruit flies or other insect that could damage the crops in California. No big deal is it. Sometime they stop me and other times they just wave me on. We either try to stop the flow of illegals and drugs into our country or we don't. WE can't have it both ways.
Really, would you feel safe in this day and age boarding an airplane having not passed through a security checkpoint? Does that not also violate your "fundimantal right to travel unmolested"?
You really should grow up and take a look at the state of things and decide if you really want these trends to continue to get worse. Or if you would rather put yiour faith into the people sworn to do something about it.
