If you look at WHOIS for Google.cn you'll find that domain registered to a single Chinese national. Practically everything we do on the web in China, almost all business activity has to be transacted through a Chinese proxy. Even Google.
Anyways, this little map thing, this disappearing nation trick, we've seen this before. Tibet. At one point just went away from all world maps. I think it's a conspiracy of the cartographers.
