I hate to tell ya.  These recalls have nothing to do with safety.  These are government tracking upgrades.  Toyota even announced two weeks later that the safety "update" they installed on their recalls was completely electronic in nature.

Note that all these recalls occurred immediately after cash for clunkers ended.  What did cash for clunkers do?  Not only did it take old cars off the road, it required they be DESTROYED to the point of being permanently undrivable.  Hmm.... wonder why?  Just like demilling firearms.

Mark my words.  Expect recalls from every major automaker before the end of the year.

Get ready for "reform" legislation out of the foreign nation known as DC.

This reform legislation will make it ILLEGAL to sell used cars, either through a dealer or privately, that are not caught up on all the "safety recall updates".
