Welcome to the Freedom Forum of Freedom's Phoenix!
Freedom reigns here like the days of the old Wild West! We have no corporate or government censors to tell you what you can and cannot say in our public forums. We encourage everyone to keep a civil tongue, but you are free to express your opinions no matter what your perspective is on any subject -- just be prepared for someone else to have an entirely opposite view and tell the world you don't know what you are talking about!
Some entries, which our regular editors consider too vulgar -- according to their standards, may be tagged "Crude or Lewd" so the faint-of-mind folks don't have to view them, but everyone can use the link on the right-hand column to decide for themselves whether to show those entries or not.
Anyone may read the discussions shown in our forum. You will need to sign-up as a member and provide your name and valid email address to be able to add comments and participate in the discussions. There is no cost to join.
Now, join the party and have some real fun!

I would but I'm scared there might be a test at the end of the two hour training.

Another hour added for whatever it is.
"Almost ready...give us another hour. Thanks!"
It's starting to look like the old joke about how to keep an idiot in suspense.

The question you must ask yourself is which is the better investment for the future - gold or lead?
(my personal choice is reflected in the 2000 Sellier and Beloit .223's I added to my 'collection' at the last Crossroads of the West gunshow. The next one is May 17th and 18th.)

July 12th Washington DC Revolution March???
I hope they get Michael Franti & Spearhead as musical entertainment to that March,... then I'm much more likely to go knowing that it will have a representation from the Anti-War crowd.

What a crock of sh*t. Mr Weinstein's idea of tolerance is a one way ticket to tyranny. Would someone invite him to leave our country with a one way ticket?
Freedom is two way. Tyranny is one way. Mr Weinstein doesn't seem to know the difference.

We certainly agree- as we've said "Dr. Paul cured our apathy" and it is a measure of his brilliance that he has been able to mobilize so many 'under the radar'. At the same time, understand that Americans are ALARMED at the direction both parties are taking us and we're not going to let it happen if we can help it! It is SERIOUS stuff http://www.squidoo.com/american-fascism that the cowardly reps don't want to face, and leftovers from that heinous Chinagate that we will pay a very heavy price for before its over http://www.squidoo.com/antiwar. If we want to live at all, not to mention in peace and freedom, this has to be taken care of NOW. We can't afford this insanity any longer!

Brock,... you sooo smart.
If they are acknowledging his election then all of the other ballots casts then for the Ron Paul delegates are just as acknowledged :)

Unfortunately, because Bush has not appointed four FEC commissioner replacements they are two short of a quorum. Clearly Bush will not act until after the election, so the FEC cannot decide anything. It is in effect n hold until after the election. Therefor nothing will happen to delay McCain's expenditures at least until after the Democrats have assured themselves a nominee. And even then it is unlikely that McCain will be effected until after the election...and not even then.

Is it wise to use the term "anarchy" as a synonym for "lack of order", knowing that the self-organizing principle that we advocate as libertarians is the same one that would make anarchy work? Anarchy isn't chaos, anarchy is peace... Just something to think about.

The best insurance against this totalitarianism is a widespread questioning as to whether it is being arranged. It just doesn't work to enslave somebody just on the say-so that new laws -- or even, under today's circumstances, a new NEED for laws (because people aren't adequately controlled by their masters) -- require his or her enslavement.

Brock, this coming weekend is the Maine Republican Convention. Here McCain finished second behind the Mass Gov, but out of the 600 or so delegates picked in Feb, at least 35-40 percent were commited to Paul. One wonders if the Nevada drama will continue in Maine.

Yes, but to do it at the point of a gun (and the threat and actuality of imprisonment) is armed robbery and extortion.

I want to know how the RNC can reconvene in Las Vegas, when the meeting in Reno was never properly recessed. Seems to me they're bound by the rules to reconvene in Reno, and that delegates are entirely within their rights to seek a court injunction guaranteeing that -- along with specific remedies such as beginning with someone standing in place of the chair (who refused to abide by the rules) presiding over the election of a new chairman for the occasion. I think everyone who has read all the reports will know who that probably would be....

My neighbor has had a garden for years, and she is giving me tips on planting my own. We live on several acres, so growing our own food is not a problem, as long as we still have water. Here are a couple of links to sources for finding your own local produce:

Herbs and such can be grown in patios and indoors. We are in for hard times, for sure.

I hope you are correct. But my understanding is over 8% of the US population lives in cities, an inverse from the 30's depression. I doubt there is enough arable land to do much of anything. Besides expensive water, it is against local ordinances and home owner associations. Could be fun.

Yes. I was going to say from these stories -- having attended many a convention -- you cannot gain control or effect most proposals without a majority. Though you can bock significant changes to bylaws that require more than a 50% vote with a minority.
Thank you Brock. This has been fun and will no doubt continue.

First, thank you to Mark Yannone whose blog brought this article to my attention:

Though he disagrees with Devvy over a point in her article...and I agree...she might too.
Secondly, way to go Karen. Make some waves. This hit piece was written, unauthored which means it is the Arizona Republic's editorial board and therefor its official position.
Why they care, and what the big deal is about the 9/11 memorial...well let me just say I find it interesting. Very interesting.
