SAIC & other "Beltway Bandits" Awarded $6.6bn Contract by Defense Intelligence Agency to S

MCLEAN, Va. — Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) (NYSE: SAI) today announced that it has been awarded a new contract by the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) to support the DIA DoD Intelligence Information System (DoDIIS) Enterprise, Combatant Commands and Service Intelligence Agencies with information technology (IT) services. The multiple award, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity (IDIQ) contract has a one-year base period of performance, four one-year options, and a ceiling value of $6.6 billion for all awardees. This is the largest contract ever awarded by DIA.
The Defense Intelligence Agency is a Department of Defense (DOD) combat support agency that provides military intelligence to warfighters, defense policymakers and force planners in support of U.S. military operations and weapon systems acquisition. This contract will enable DIA to acquire the full scope of IT services and capabilities needed to accomplish its critical missions. Under the contract, SAIC and other contractors will provide worldwide coverage for IT requirements and technical support services, and assist the government through system design, development, fielding, and sustainment of global intelligence and C2 (command and control) assets vital to the security of the United States. SAIC will provide support as required in areas including program management; technology assessment and evaluation; network operations and administration; web and content management; and information assurance.
“Information technology is a key enabler for the transformation of defense intelligence, and SAIC is pleased to support DIA, helping ensure that they have the full range of responsive and adaptive IT solutions needed to support current and future defense intelligence operations,” said John Thomas, SAIC senior vice president and business unit general manager.
