Is the federal government entrusted with the duty of securing the peoples’ rights? This belief is repeated over and over and appears to be commonplace among the American people. In reality, under the structure of government established by the Constitution, it is the duty of the States, not the federal government, to protect the individual rights of the people. Further, only PEOPLE have rights; artificial entities including citizens, individuals, persons, residents, etc., do not have protected rights, only privileges granted by the corporation that created them, the corporation established in 1871, dba the United States.
