US, Russian scientists launch hunt for evasive Siberian Yeti

Serious scientists from Russia, the United States and other countries are gathering together during October 2011 for a conference followed by an expedition to hunt down the evasive Siberian Yeti. The expedition was announced in March 2011 and the team is ready to embark. The Siberian version is thought to be either similar to—or the same—creature seen in the mountains of Nepal and Tibet. That legendary creature, sometimes called "The Abominable Snowman," has been sighted on and off for more than half a century by some of the world's most famous mountain climbers.
