Real Reason We Need Sleep

• arclein
"This study shows that the brain has different functional states when asleep and when awake," study researcher Maiken Nedergaard, of the University of Rochester said in a statement. "In fact, the restorative nature of sleep appears to be the result of the active clearance of the by-products of neural activity that accumulate during wakefulness."

You are going to find that the greatest natural brain toxin creator is the decision making process. Sleep represses the decision making process.

Stress is an over-acting decision making process... one that is not sure of itself, thereby multiplying brain action on itself. Stress without rest can kill.

Sleep allows the decision making process to almost shut down. When that happens, the brain naturally restores itself.
