 From the longest line you can sail to the average price of a Big Mac or the world’s most common surnames, these maps show how we lead our lives – and maybe how we should.

One map displays where in the world there is the highest risk of drought, while another show where on the rolling seas you run are most likely to run into pirates, serving as a warning to those who live there.

Rather unsurprisingly, Jones is the most common surname in the Welsh Valleys, and, as one map shows, you will not be the only Papadopoulos in Athens.

The Scandinavian countries tops the lists for coffee consumption per capita and its inhabitants are also the quickest off the mark to lose their virginity.

Britain, however, rise to the occasion when it comes to drinking alcohol and along with its former colonies it is one of the few nations still driving on the left side of the road.
