Has the 2020 Presidential Election Already Started?

Even with the 2014 Congressional elections and a presidential race in 2016 yet to be decided, the election in 2020 may already have its first candidate. Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick stated he will not rule out making a run for the office of president after 2016. The 57-year old Patrick has been governor of the Bay State since 2007. He is a Chicago native, and attended college at Harvard. In earlier interviews, Patrick has ruled out running for the White House in two years. He has also hired his first campaign manager. John Walsh, former director of the Massachusetts Democratic Party, will manage the governor's Together PAC. That organization collects funds for candidates with similar viewpoints to Patrick. Whether or not he runs for the White House in 2020 or beyond remains to be seen. The Governor has spoken several times of his love for working in the private sector.
