Government forces in Venezuela are randomly shooting people from motorcycles, and breaking down doors of apartment buildings. Whenever they find a person thought to be a protester, they kill them without trial. Protests and unrest in the nation have turned into widespread murder and mayhem.
Some luckier citizens are merely being arrested for even a suspicion of protest. Security forces in the South American country are launching tear gas canisters into apartment buildings to drive residents from their homes.
Last week, opposition leader Leopoldo Lopez surrendered to authorities. He is charged with inciting violence and opposition to the government. His detention brought even more people out on the streets.
Lopez is currently being held at the Ramo Verde prison complex in Caracas.
Gauber Venot, a 29-year-old protester, said "This all started with the arrest of Leopoldo Lopez. It's important we have foreign media here. Our media is censored..."
