Sarah Palin recently told an assembled crowd that if she were president of the United States, "Waterboarding is how we'd baptize terrorists." The former Alaska governor first spoke out against the Obama Administration and Democrats in Washington, before turning to foreign policy. Palin told the audience, "Come on. Enemies, who would utterly annihilate America, they who'd obviously have information on plots, to carry out Jihad. Oh, but you can't offend them, can't make them feel uncomfortable, not even a smidgen. Well, if I were in charge, they would know that waterboarding is how we'd baptize terrorists." The remarks were made to a meeting of members of the National Rifle Association, held in Indianapolis. Several religious leaders who also consider themselves to be political conservatives have spoken out against the statement by Palin.
