Two years ago, former Minnesota governor and pro-wrestler Jesse Ventura filed a defamation lawsuit against a highly decorated Navy Seal. Chris Kyle?s book, ?American Sniper? tells a story of Kyle punching Ventura in the face and knocking him to the ground during a barroom fight. The court battle drew so much attention because libel law doesn?t normally apply to celebrity figures.
Things got a little more complicated when the legendary sniper was gunned down by a Marine at a Texas shooting range. Police arrested Eddie Routh and charged him with the murder of Chris Kyle, all while Ventura?s defamation lawsuit continued.
You may have heard recently that the 10-member jury ruled that Ventura was defamed and that profits from the defamation were unjustly gained. Ventura was awarded 1.8 million dollars and now, he?s speaking out to the public for the first time since his case.
