The amount of material each side sought to dispose of is enough for about 17,000 nuclear warheads.

Of course, one has to believe in this figure of 17,000 warheads to be fully impressed with the additional "danger" of non-cooperation. But we have no other authority for it in this article but CBS news itself and other similar mainstream reports. And those running CBS News lie congenitally, depending on the meme they want to promote.

But this is just on the nuclear front. When one examines the wars of the 20th and 21st century, almost none of them seem to be conflicts that were genuinely initiated as reported by mainstream journalists and historians.

World War I began after the murder and attempted murder of the West's most anti-war leaders, Archduke Franz Ferdinand, who was shot to death Sarajevo and Grigori Rasputin, who was stabbed but lived. These two anti-war figures apparently had to be removed before the war could be initiated with confidence that it would catch-on and continue.
