Governor Jerry Brown vetoed a bill that would have allowed illegal aliens to be employed by the government and he vetoed another bill that would have established a "fake news" advisory board that could have censored alternative news outlets. Activist, Gary Gileno, went to state lawmakers' offices and lobbied against both bills – and apparently he was successful, despite discouragement from people on the internet who told him he was just wasting his time. -GEG
