Prince Harry and wife, Meghan Markle, along with their two children, left Queen Elizabeth's Platinum Jubilee celebrating 70 years on the British throne on Sunday before the festivities had concluded. They are understood to have traveled on a Bombardier Global 6000 "ultra long-range" plane for their 5,500-mile 11-hour journey that would have emitted nearly 60 tonnes of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere. Flying on a commercial plane from Heathrow to Los Angeles on economy class reportedly emits 1.4 tonnes of carbon dioxide. The Paris Climate agreement states that each person should aim to produce no more than 2.1 tonnes of carbon dioxide each year.

In 2021, during the United Nations Climate Change Conference (aka COP26), Harry and Meghan  vowed to go net zero by 2030 and declared they would change everything from their daily commutes to their eating habits.
