Donald Trump's glamorous daughter-in-law, 42, has been co-chairing the Republican National Committee since March and has recently been praised for overseeing the dominant Republican wins in the 2024 election. 

The mother of two married Eric Trump in 2014 and has worked in Trump's orbit ever since, being a fixture on his three presidential campaigns. 

After reports Monday indicated that Sen. Marco Rubio will be joining his upcoming administration as Secretary of State, the question of who will replace the Florida lawmaker has quickly cropped up.

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis will now be forced to select a replacement for the veteran lawmaker who has served since 2011 - and Trump's daughter-in-law has been mentioned as a contender by several Republicans. 

'I'm actually going to make a public call for Gov. DeSantis to appoint Lara Trump to fill Marco Rubio's term in office,' Republican Florida Rep. Anna Paulina Luna said Tuesday on a conservative talk show. 

'I think she is the best fit,' Luna said, adding Lara is 'largely responsible for securing president Trump's win.'

Lara Trump also would likely be able to win the Senate seat in two years when the election for Rubio's vacated seat will be held, Luna believes. 

'I think Lara Trump would avoid a really nasty primary in two years when that seat then comes open. And I think that she has the qualifications, she proved herself as a national leader.' 

But Luna is not the only lawmaker calling for Lara Trump's Senate appointment. 

Freshman Sen. Katie Britt, R-Ala., also is backing the RNC co-chair.
