A Decade Ago, El Salvador Had over 6,500 Homicides per Year -
• The Gateway PunditThe year of our Lord of 2024 witnessed yet another victorious period for El Salvador and its re-elected President Nayib Bukele.
The reduction of the violence continues, and the country that had 6,656 homicides in 2015 now has reduced this alarming rate to 214 homicides in 2023, and now in 2024 to a record low 114 murders.
The continuing security gains is an unmistakable success story in the second full year of a state of emergency.
