The homemaking mogul, 83, spent five months in prison in 2004 and five months on house arrest, followed by two years of supervised probation after she was found guilty of conspiracy, obstruction, and making false statements to investigators, per NBC News.

Even though the case is behind her now, Stewart seems to still have some grudges that she's holding.

During a Monday night appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, the Martha Stewart Omnimedia founder revealed that she was asked to host SNL shortly after she was released from prison, but wasn't allowed to.

The topic came about after Fallon asked her if she would ever be open to hosting the late-night comedy show.

'I wanted to and they asked me as I was coming out of Alderson, that camp that I was in for a while, and my parole officer wouldn't give me the time to do it,' Stewart admitted, in reference to Alderson Federal Prison.

'I was allowed to be out of my house eight hours a day,' she said, as Fallon asked if her parole officer had given permission.

'No, that b*****d,' Stewart joked, adding that she still has the officer's 'name and number.'

'But Lorne [Michaels] called you and said, "Would you like to host?"' Fallon asked her.

'Yeah, I'm so p***ed,' Stewart said with a laugh. 'Maybe someday.'

The two then talked about how 'fantastic' of a host the CBD founder would make.

'Start a campaign,' she joked.

In the past, Stewart has shared some details of her time in prison, and it was heavily discussed in her 2024 Netflix documentary, Martha.  

But in a 2021 interview with Harper's Bazaar, she opened up about her stint in prison, explaining how she dealt with the hard time.

'I knew I was strong going in and I was certainly stronger coming out,' Stewart said of her time in the facility.
